Holistic Night Skincare Routine

The Holistic approach towards skincare looks at the bigger picture. The health of your skin is considered like a whole YOU - mind, body and emotions.
 

Below you can discover Terramily’s holistic night skincare ritual that helped our community and us. Cleanse, nourish, restore your skin's barrier while breathing slowly and deeply. Be present.

1 STEP. Ground Yourself

BREATHE

I start from “letting go” all day tensions, stressors and negative thoughts. Let’s help our body to get back to a homeostasis state before proceeding with skincare rituals.


BREATH, take a moment, close your eyes and slowly breathe in and breathe out all your tensions and stressors. If you like organic essential oils, you can enhance this step by using our only product with essential oils Pulse Point Mood Roller that was formulated to shift our mood into a more grounded state.
 

Apply one of our rollers on your wrist, then bring them up to your nose and inhale the organic essential oils blend directly. Breath in slowly for four seconds and then out slowly for four, repeat it a couple of times.

2 STEP. Double Cleansing Method

A

Remove oil-based impurities (make-up, water-resistant sunscreen, sebum and pollution) with one of ours oil-based cleansers as a first cleansing step.
 

* Deeply Nourishing Cleansing Balm for Dry, Mature, Normal and Sensitive skin. 
 

* Seed Complex Cleansing Oil for Oily, Combination, Normal and Sensitive skin.

Close your eyes, let yourself feel your skin, touch and massage it with kindness and gratitude.

* Take your time in this step to dissolve all impurities. Massage your skin for at least 1-2 min ✨

Then remove water-based impurities (grime and sweat) with one of ours water-based cleansers as a second cleansing step.
 

* Gentle Baobab Cleansing Powder for Dry, Mature, Normal and Sensitive skin.

* Purifying Clay Cleansing Powder for Oily, Combination, Normal and Sensitive skin.

3 STEP. Hydration

A

Splash cleansed face with cold tap water or preferable spray your favourite hydrating mist, toner or flower water.

*If you use any water-based serum in your skincare routine, this is the moment to apply it.

Follow to the next step immediately because water alone is not a strong enough ingredient to keep your skin hydrated, as it quickly evaporates along with your skin's natural oils. Hydration needs to be sealed by occlusive layers like Face Oils or Moisturisers (see below).

4 STEP. Nourishment

A

Immediately after the hydration step, apply by padding our Lipid Barrier Replenishing Face Oil onto your damp skin that is either freshly washed or misted.

Optionally, apply right after your favourite night cream on the top of Face Oil or mix 1-2 drops of Lipid Barrier Replenishing Face Oil with your night cream and then apply it onto your face.

5 STEP. Skin natural process of recovery

SLEEP

Get your deep 7 to 9 hours of recovery sleep, so your body has enough time to replenish its cells.
 

During sleep, blood flow to the skin increases, helping to rebuild collagen and repair UV damage.

Your body repairs itself and recovers while you sleep, and that leads to a long list of benefits for your skin looks, like glowing complexion, plumper skin, less puffy eyes and better skin barrier function.

PS. I am a mother, and I am the first one to admit that it isn’t easy to have a deep, long sleep every single night but let's do our best :)

1. Single, delicate cleansing (you can use our Gentle Baobab Cleansing Powder).
2. Antioxidant Serum (preferable with Vitamin C).
3. Sunscreen 30 to 50 SPF.
